The numerous municipal operators in Scotland that existed prior to 1975 are put in focus. Concentrating on the 'Big Four', Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, a well informed text and superb collection of photographs provide a compelling account. A selection of lesser-known operators, such as Ayr, Kilmarnock, Kirkcaldy, Leith and Perth are included. As well as buses, trams and trolleybuses are all to be seen.
